IRMA

Irish Recorded Music Association logo.png

The Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) was created in 1999 to promote "the music industry in the Republic of Ireland." (Wikipedia)  IRMA is known for noting copyright cases.  IRMA further lists the official music charts for Ireland.

The music charts include -
Top 100 Albums
Top 100 Singles
Top 10 Classical Albums
Top 10 Dance Singles
Top 20 Multi-Artist Compilation Albums
Top 30 Videos
Top 20 DVDs
Top 10 Music DVDs

(Further details can be found on Wikipedia.)

Although I was unable to source album certification requisites, I do know that IRMA issues Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum.

In the list of albums certified by the Irish Recorded Music Association, Multi-Platinum is in an impressive range - 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, 6X, 7X, 8X, 9X ... 13X, 14X, 15x ... 20X ... 23X.

White Ladder is the only listed album under 23X.  Follow the link for honors and global certifications.  One point of interest - Upon debut in 1998, the album did not chart.  The album has since sold over 7 million copies worldwide.  Impressive irony.
