The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Class of 1987 No. 1

 The Coasters

Inducted by Lester Sill

(Wikipedia)

The Coasters are an American rhythm and blues/rock and roll band.  They are best known as an influence of the doo-wop genre through the 1960s.

The Coasters' discography includes 7 albums total.

The later history of the band is disturbing and one I prefer to not share here.  If you must know, refer to the Wikipedia link above.

On a more positive note, The Coasters were also inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999.

The original members include -
Carl Gardner, Bobby Nunn, Billy Guy, Leon Hughes (briefly replaced by musician, Young Jessie), and Adolph Jacob (left the group in 1959)

Four members of The Coasters were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 - Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Will "Dub" Jones, and Cornell Gunter.

There are four names current to The Coasters.  There are several former members.  There were a select number of session musicians.  A sense of in and out.

Once again, follow the Wikipedia link above for more.
