(Wikipedia)

Bill Haley is noted for first popularizing the rock and roll genre with his band, Bill Haley & His Comets.  Some of the most well known songs by Bill Haley include "Rock Around the Clock," "See You Later, Alligator," "Shake, Rattle and Roll," and many more.

Refer to Wikipedia for Bill Haley's full background - career, legacy, and discography.

- Noteworthy Mentions -

"Rock Around the Clock" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1982.
Inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame (2017)

Point of intrigue - Bill Haley once admitted to knowing that teenagers were the best target for his type of music.  His style was meant for people to dance to.

Random thought - In a sense, Duran Duran can be viewed the same way.  Their market was for a matching audience that grew with them.  Every member of Duran Duran desired the want to dance to their songs.  These notions have lasted for years and for following generations.
