The Who - An extensive history from formation in 1964 to date, with constant personnel changes and an iconic stamp on rock music. What is left to say can best be summed up on Wikipedia - this post specifically would be exhaustive and time consuming to follow and read, so as with past musicians I will focus on honors and achievements.
The original lineup included -
Roger Daltry (lead singer)
Pete Townshend (guitarist and singer)
John Entwistle (bass guitar and singer)
Keith Moon (drummer)
The original lineup was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Who was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 1988. The band was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.
The Who was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

I will always be a fan of "Eminence Front" for the decade it was recorded in and the decade I was born in. However, next best for me are the singles "My Generation" and "Who Are You" - two of many defining songs recorded and performed by The Who.
