The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Class of 1990 No. 6

 The Platters

Inducted by Phil Spector

"Many Voices One Name"
American vocal group formed in 1952
Revolving door of members - hence the quote
The constant departures and replacements would be exhausting to write here, so follow the Wikipedia link above to read more.

First rock and roll group to have a Top Ten album in the U.S.

Inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (1998)

Point of intrigue - In 1959, the four male members were arrested, but not convicted, in Cincinnati, Ohio, for drug and prostitution charges.  Their records were removed from playing on U.S. radio stations.

I am not entirely sure what left to say about The Platters.  I personally have never of the group until now.  They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a reason, so I suppose that is all that matters.
