Fashion FM

I am an entrepreneur as a blogger and as an Avon Independent Sales Representative.  I am also an affiliate marketer - a business in its own way.  Consider zZounds on Set List for music and Saks Boutique for fashion. Now consider a blend of music and fashion in one blog.

I launched Fashion FM in September 2019 with intent of Fashmates fashion accenting a variety of songs ("FM").  On the other hand, songs of choice for each post inspired what the Fashmates look books would be.  Either way, Fashion FM as a blog came into its own.

Where the Set List motto is "Play it," the Fashion FM Motto is "Tune in next time."

As for the entrepreneurial spirit, I do promote affiliate marketing on Fashion FM in both music and fashion.  Follow the link above to explore the blog and all that it has to offer!

Boy

U2 Boy.png

As iconic as U2 have come to be, they had to start somewhere.

Boy is U2's debut album, recorded in Dublin, and released in October 1980.  As with subsequent albums, Boy had meaning as well - "adolescence, innocence, and passage into adulthood." (Wikipedia)

"I Will Follow" - first single to reach U.S. radio waves

Boy Honors -
No. 417 on Rolling Stone's "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time" (2003)
No. 59 on "100 Greatest Debut Albums" (Uncut 2006)
No. 63 on Billboard 200

Boy Certifications -
Gold in the UK
Platinum in Canada and the U.S.

(A full background can be found on Wikipedia.)

The most notable single from Boy is "I Will Follow."

"I Will Follow" Background -
- Tribute to Bono's mother who passed away when he was 14 years old
- "unconditional love a mother has for her child"
- First track on Boy
- Released in October 1980
- Only U2 song to be performed on every tour

U2 had to start somewhere..."I Will Follow."

Duran Duran - Girls on Film

Duran Duran are a classic staple on Set List.  "Girls on Film" as performed live from London is a yearly tradition when celebrating each member's birthday - from Roger Taylor in April to Simon Le Bon in October.

What you need to know about "Girls on Film" -
- Third single from debut album, Duran Duran, released in July 1981
- No. 5 in the UK Singles Chart
- Genres considered - Synth-pop, New Wave

(Wikipedia)

Point of interest -
"Girls on Film" is the first track of the debut album.  In the 1981 U.S. release, "Girls on Film" is the second track.  However, in the 1983 re-release in the U.S., "Girls on Film" is the first track.  The original album release in the U.S. was not as successful as anticipated.

What you need to know about Duran Duran -
- Released in June 1981
- No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart
- Genres considered - New Wave, Synth-Pop, Dance-Rock

Duran Duran Certifications -
Platinum in New Zealand, UK, and U.S.
2X Platinum in Canada

(Wikipedia

Duran Duran is an established band, despite personnel changes over the years.  Their history is impressive and fans will always be able to look to their future.

zZounds Music Sunday

Due disclaimer - This post contains affiliate links and I may be compensated on any purchase made.

In this edition of zZounds Music Sunday, I am highlighting the Korg brand for keyboards and synthesizers.  I associate Gibson with the electric guitar.  I associate Fender with the bass guitar.  I associate Roland with the drums.  I associate Korg with the ultimate in keyboards and especially the technical end of introducing synthesizers and vocoders into any performance.

So consider the following -

Korg Micro-Korg Analog-Modeling Synth/Vocoder
$349.99 OR 8 Payments $43.75

https://www.zzounds.com/a--3960264/item--KORMICROKORG

I associate Korg with Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran.  He is the definition of professional both on stage and in the studio.  The band refers to him as "the controller" and if you see him live, you will understand why.

If you are curious about the Korg brand and the offer in this post, explore the link above.  If you are seriously interested in this offer and are comfortable with your skill set, follow the link above for specs and investment plan.

As always,

Play it!
