...The Audience Will Know is this edition of Friday Fave.
Billy Squier, in a live performance, hinted at four words - "stroke me, stroke me." The audience knew within less than a second what to shout out in response - "stroke." The audience knew every word and every instrumental to "The Stroke." One would think that Billy Squier was on stage just to sing along. A person truly is a lifelong fan if they know a favorite song by one lyric alone.
In the post, One Lyric - The Audience Will Know, Billy Squier's Absolute Hits album was the YouTube cover. Released in 2005 under the genre, Classic Rock, below is the track list of Billy Squier's Absolute Hits. If you are an absolute fan of Billy Squier, leave a comment at the end of this post to share your absolute favorite Billy Squier song!

*My absolute favorite Billy Squier song is "Everybody Wants You." Other favorites include "In the Dark" and "Emotions in Motion." "The Stroke" - as with "Planet Earth" by Duran Duran - is best heard live.
Peter Frampton, on the other hand, did not need to sing in the opening of "Do You Feel Like We Do." No, he just needed to play the guitar...and then the audience knew. A person truly is a lifelong fan if they know the words to an entire song before the musician sings. One would think that Peter Frampton could simply play the guitar and the audience could sing on his behalf.
In the One Lyric - The Audience Will Know post, Peter Frampton's Greatest Hits album was the YouTube cover. Released in 1998 under the genre, Classic Rock, below is the track list of Peter Frampton's Greatest Hits.
