Who is Harold Faltermeyer?

Hans Hugo Harold Faltermeyer, professionally known as Harold Faltermeyer, is a German musician, composer, and record producer.

If you are a fan of 1980's films, Harold Faltermeyer will often be in the credits - such as for Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, and Fletch (starring Chevy Chase).  Of the three, Beverly Hills Cop and Fletch sound remarkably the same in music style and plot.

Where Nick Rhodes may have brought synth-pop to life in mainstream music, Harold Faltermeyer brought synth-pop and electronic dance music to lasting pop culture.

Harold Faltermeyer won two Grammy Awards for Beverly Hills Cop and Top Gun.  In 1986, Faltermeyer won for Best Album of Original Score for a Motion Picture or Television Special.  In 1987, Faltermeyer won Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
