The Dave Matthews Band was formed in 1991. The band has had a revolving door of members, but the core includes Dave Matthews (singer-songwriter, guitarist), Stefan Lessard (bassist), Carter Beauford (drummer, backing vocals), and LeRoi Moore (saxophonist). Boyd Tinsley joined as a violinist.
LeRoi Moore passed away after a serious ATV accident. After sexual misconduct allegations, Boyd Tinsley was fired.
Jeff Coffin joined as the new saxophonist.
Other members include Rashawn Ross (trumpeter), Tim Reynolds (guitarist), and Buddy Strong (keyboardist).
