Their story began in London in 1977.  The lineup included Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland.  They received impressive critical and commercial success with their studio albums and singles.

The Police are considered to be one of the world's best-selling artists of all time with over 75 million records sold.  They have won 6 Grammy Awards, 2 Brit Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award.  Four of the band's albums have been listed in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.  The Police have been listed in Rolling Stone's and VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.  The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

The Police were the highest-earning musicians in 2008, due to the reunion tour...

...And this is where I will begin.

The Reunion Tour was a worldwide tour honoring the band's 30th anniversary.  The tour was set from 2007 to 2008.

On February 11, 2007, The Police performed at the Grammy Awards.  Official confirmation of the worldwide reunion tour was announced the following day.

The tour began in Vancouver, British Columbia in May 2007 and concluded at Madison Square Garden in August 2008.  It was meant to be a one-off.
