Clyde McPhatter lived a short life, passing away at the age of 39.  In his lifetime, though, Clyde contributed 22 years in recording history.  Read more on Wikipedia.

Clyde McPhatter was the first musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - once solo and once as a member if his band, the Drifters.

Clyde was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2009.

With that said and referring to Wikipedia for Clyde's career, singles history, and devastating reasons for death, not much else can be said...

...but he is in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame history.  That will forever say a lot.
