With his band, Jimi achieved fame in the UK with the songs, "Hey Joe," "Purple Haze," & "The Wind Cries Mary."  Jimi achieved fame in the U.S. when he performed at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.  

Jimi headlined Woodstock (1969) and the Isle of Wight Festival (1970).

As I write this post, I realize that Jimi Hendrix is not new to Set List.  In fact, my coverage of him is akin to my signature share of "Uptown Funk."  I suppose musical and pop cultural icons think alike.
