The Rock and Roll of Fame was founded in April 1983. The RRHOF is also known as Rock Hall and is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Rock Hall is home not just to the hall of fame but also a museum dedicated to rock music and artists, producers, engineers, and others who influenced the development of rock.

As of 2018, the ceremonies alternate between New York City and Cleveland.

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are the most represented with 8 songs each.
In October 2009, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebrated its 25th anniversary with a concert at Madison Square Garden. Performances included Jerry Lee Lewis, U2, Patti Smith, Simon & Garfunkel, Metallica, Bonnie Raitt, Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, Ozzy Osbourne, Buddy Guy, Stevie Wonder, Sting, and so many more.
