November Freeform

As the November Wednesday Freeform theme continues on Set List, I thought I would share my favorite television series, specifically opening lyrics.  A tough call because there are so many to choose from in my mind's recall.

When I was a child, as early as 10 years old, one of my favorite television shows was Three's Company.  I adored John Ritter and his comedic timing.  In fact, one of his inspirations was Lucille Ball - the queen of comedy.  (Note - Jack Benny was considered the king of comedy.)  John's  character's (Jack Tripper) kindness toward Joyce DeWitt's (Janet Wood) character was special and sincere.  They were meant to be close friends on and off set. Suzanne Somers' role (Chrissy Snow) fit into typical blonde, gorgeous, and expected to be not quite intellectual.

The early years in the series were my most favorite because everyone was settling into their characters, interacting, and finding the best chemistry.  Each actor contributed to the tone of the series in their own way...

...So on Set List, the opening credits set the stage for what would become an iconic program enjoyed to this day.

Arts & Entertainment Cover

Welcome to the launch edition of Arts & Entertainment Cover!

In this November series, I will share an old time Hollywood video of historically iconic performers dancing to modern day songs in seamless timing, as if the two naturally aired together.

Today's entertaining song is "Uptown Funk" as covered through a dance mix of old movies that match the beat exactly.

Set List Sunday Favorite

Every Friday on Set List is devoted to your favorite post from throughout the week.  On Sundays though I am noting my personal favorite from throughout the week - my opportunity to share a Set List Sunday favorite.

With that said, my personal favorite from throughout this week is:

Fashmuse Saturday

From burgeoning demands for gender equality in the 1800s United States to the suffrage movement in the 1900s U.S. to supporting the World War II Allies through factory work in the United States to further women's rights rallies in the 21st Century, the fight continues to shatter the glass ceiling especially financially and socially.

We can vote.  We can serve in the military.  We can be entrepreneurs.  We can rise in the corporate world.  We can, more than anything, be bread winners for our families and equal minded with our partners.  We can be bread winners for ourselves.

And so the new collections on Cents of Style and Pura Vida and the bold declaration in Shania Twain's song proves proud womanhood - let's go girls...feel like a woman...conquer the outdoors our way.

Madonna's iconic song, "Vogue," empowered women in the 1980s and beyond.

And so to conclude this entry, vogue on Set List.

Fashmuse Saturday

Welcome to the launch edition of Fashmuse Saturday!

As you can tell, "fashmuse" is not a word but in this Saturday series "fashmuse" breaks down to fashion and music - a simple combo.

Every Saturday in this month of November will feature a theme with fashion and music.  For example, this entry will show off girl power through Cents of Style "Let's Go Girls" fashion, "Outdoorsy Gals" jewelry, and a tune by Shania Twain.

Let's make the intro short and sweet to delve into "fashmuse" fun!

"Night Boat" is the first track, side two on Duran Duran's debut album and is the first track on their current.  This song then and now was created by the original lineup and for now honors a reunion in the studio.

With that said, consider the reimagined version of "Night Boat."

It All Began With A Song

Take Me Out to The Ball Game

...and ended on November 1, 2023 - Game 5...

The Texas Rangers won their first World Series in franchise history.  There truly is a first for everything and everyone.

Although I am a Chicago Cubs fan, I will always watch a game for just the love of the game.
