In this edition of Set List's Second Act, I am highlighting Duran Duran's 13th album - All You Need Is Now. Why this album, though?
All You Need Is Now was released the same year I launched Set List. On this sentimental day, recalling memories of my first concert being Duran Duran, I thought I would relive memories of a profound year in my life - 2010.
Duran Duran's PR firm eagerly encouraged fans worldwide to share promotional banners on their blogs or websites that year. I remember sharing a huge leader board banner on Set List in proud support.
Upon release, All You Need Is Now gained very decent support.
All You Need Is Now Success -
- No. 11 in the UK (Duran Duran's 13th Top 20 album)
- No. 119 on Billboard 200 (digital release in December 2010)
- No. 29 in the U.S. in March 2011 (physical release)
- 15,000 copies sold in the first week in the U.S.
- As of August 2015, 76,000 copies sold in the U.S.
Genres considered - New Wave/Pop Rock
There are 9 tracks on the digital release and 14 tracks on the physical release. "All You Need Is Now" is listed first on both. "Girl Panic!" is listed sixth on both. I am mentioning "Girl Panic!" specifically because of the video - iconic supermodels portraying Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor (as well as Dominic Brown).

My take away from this special day -
Concerts come and go in Chicago, but Duran Duran in 2008 will be the only one I prefer. Without "Ordinary World" or Astronaut, I would be aware of Duran Duran, but not the fan I am today...and not with Set List.
For these reasons, Duran Duran is a forever inspiration.
