Chicago is one of the longest and most successful rock bands & a best-selling group of all time with over 100 million records sold and over 10 million in the U.S. alone. The band has 23 Gold albums, 18 Platinum albums, and 8 Multi-Platinum albums.  They have 5 consecutive No. 1 albums on Billboard 200.  In 1974, the band had (at the time) 7 albums in total on Billboard 200 simultaneously.

Point of intrigue - Chicago is considered a pioneer in rock music marketing with its distinctive logo on album covers and use of roman numerals when naming albums.

Chicago is one of the most successful American bands in RIAA & Billboard history.

Chicago has 10 Grammy nominations and one win for the song, "If You Leave Me Now."

The band's 1969 debut album, Chicago Transit Authority, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014.

In 2020, Chicago received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The original line-up was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

In 2017, Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, and James Pankow were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
